Holiday Gifts For Lazy Cats

Happy Holidays! Over the next few weeks, many people will be trying to find the perfect gifts for their loved ones. If you’re shopping online this year, it’s probably safe to say that your feline pal will be supervising you carefully … and perhaps occasionally walking across your keys. Don’t forget to pick up something for Fluffy! If you have a playful, frisky pet, then toys will be the obvious choice. If your feline buddy is a furry couch potato, however, you may have a harder time picking out her presents. An Anderson, IN vet lists a few things that may get your kitty’s motor going in this article.

Beds

No surprises here! Fluffy can spend as much as 20 hours a day sleeping. One bed will do, but your furball will be thrille to have two, three, or even four. It’s nice to have options!

Window Seats

Even the laziest furball can’t sleep all the time. Fluffy does need entertainment and stimulation. Birdwatching is very popular with lazy cats. Make your kitty a comfy window seat in a spot with a good view.

Toys

Fluffy may not be very motivated, but she’ll probably still have at least the occasional moments of friskiness. Giving her a few toys may help prompt her to release her inner kitten sometimes. Try using toys that you control, like a laser pointer or wand toy.

Boxes

Cardboard boxes are always popular with our feline friends. Cats just can’t resist jumping into empty boxes! (Fluffy may just fall asleep in her new box, but that’s just purr for the course.)

Cat Enclosure

We always recommend keeping Fluffy inside. You might think a lazy cat wouldn’t get into too much trouble sunbathing on your car or rolling around in the driveway, but kitties face all sorts of threats outside. Weather, traffic, and wild animals are just a few potential hazards. If you want to let your furball enjoy some fresh air and sunshine, consider getting her a catio.

Furniture

Fluffy will spend a lot of time just lounging around, perhaps thinking about her next nap. Get her some new things to look unimpressed on.
