In-Home Euthanasia

In-Home Euthanasia for Pets in Pendleton, Anderson & Surrounding Communities

Compassionate, peaceful goodbyes — in the comfort of home.

Saying goodbye to a beloved pet is one of the hardest decisions a family will ever make. At Pendleton Veterinary Clinic, we believe every pet deserves to spend their final moments feeling safe, loved, and stress-free. That’s why we now offer in-home euthanasia services, designed to bring comfort, dignity, and support for end-of-life care in your home.

We proudly serve families in Pendleton, Anderson, and throughout Madison, Hamilton, Delaware, Henry, and Hancock Counties.

Why Choose In-Home Euthanasia?

Many pets feel anxious, uncomfortable, or fearful when traveling to the clinic — especially senior pets or those in fragile health. Choosing in-home euthanasia allows your companion to remain in a familiar space, surrounded by the people they love most, with the least amount of stress during their journey onward.

Families often choose this service because it:

  • Creates a peaceful, private setting
  • Eliminates the stress of car rides and waiting rooms
  • Allows all family members to be present
  • Gives pets comfort during their final moments
  • Offers more time for quiet and personalized support

Dr. Crabtree approaches every appointment with empathy, gentleness, and respect — prioritizing your pet’s comfort above all else.

In-home euthanasia is available to pet families located in:

  • Madison County
  • Hamilton County
  • Delaware County
  • Henry County
  • Hancock County

If you are unsure whether your home falls within our service radius, please call — we’re here to help.

What to Expect During the Visit

Euthanasia is a medically assisted way to help a pet pass away without pain or suffering. It is chosen when a pet’s quality of life has declined and allows them to pass gently and compassionately.

It is a peaceful, painless two-step process that typically involves:

  • A calming sedative to help your pet relax into a deep, pain-free sleep
  • A final medication that gently allows them to pass on without discomfort

We know this experience can feel overwhelming, and our goal is to guide you through every step with compassion, clarity, and peace of mind. During an in-home euthanasia appointment, you can expect:

  • A gentle, unhurried process
  • Dr. Crabtree will speak with you about your pet’s condition, answer questions, and help you feel fully prepared.
  • You can choose a peaceful setting — a favorite room, bed, or quiet spot in your home.

You are welcome to hold your pet, sit beside them, or create any environment that feels right for your family. Your pet will feel calm and supported throughout the entire process. Dr. Crabtree will give you as much time as you need before and after the procedure.

In-Home Pricing

In-home euthanasia services start at $300, with pricing based on travel distance. Aftercare options are available and are additional, based on your wishes.

Aftercare Options for Your Pet

Pendleton Veterinary Clinic partners with a trusted and licensed crematory to provide respectful aftercare options. Options available to you and your family include:

Communal Cremation

Pets are respectfully cremated with other pets, and ashes are not returned. This is a meaningful option for families who do not wish to keep remains but want assurance that their pet is treated with care. The price for a Communal Cremation starts at $140.

Private Cremation

For families who wish to have their pet’s ashes returned, our private cremation service offers a more personalized and memorial-focused option. Each pet is cremated individually to ensure care and dignity.

If private cremation is selected, your pet’s ashes will be carefully returned to Pendleton Veterinary Clinic within 2–5 business days, and our team will notify you by phone as soon as they arrive.

Private cremation pricing starts at $250 and includes a wooden urn with a nameplate and a clay paw print as a lasting keepsake.

Scheduling an Appointment

At this time, most in-home euthanasia visits are offered after regular clinic hours and are scheduled by phone at (765) 678-1001. Because the doctor’s availability can vary, we recommend calling in advance so we can ensure adequate time is set aside to best support you and your pet.

This phone number is dedicated specifically for scheduling in-home euthanasia visits.
